Cynics may question Kelly Chen Wai-lam's pregnancy, but not her maternal instinct. In her first promotion gig - plugging Maxim's mooncakes - after the birth of her son Chace in July, Chen teared up just thinking about spending time away from her child on Thursday at the event at Exchange Square's Hunan Garden Restaurant. Dressed in a tight-fitting outfit with very high heels just two months after giving birth, it's no wonder some doubted whether she was ever pregnant. 'Of course, I did put on weight. I am now at 55kg. I used to weigh 51kg,' Chen said. 'The extra weight went to my face and here,' she said, pointing at her chin. 'There is also a huge scar on my belly [from the Caesarean section] and it still hurts. How could I have faked all that?' The singer added that she spent 10 hours a day looking after Chace, so when she returns to work, she will be hit hard by separation anxiety. That's why she has printed loads of pictures of her baby to take with her everywhere she goes. 'I think I can learn to be separated from Chace gradually,' she said before her eyes started watering. 'Are you missing him now?' a reporter asked. 'Not now, but I am going to Singapore for work tomorrow.' For how long? 'One day,' Chen said, which got a good laugh.
