Wynnie says: Gaining weight healthily and keeping it on isn't as easy as you might think. Although you need to regularly eat more calories than you burn, you can't just stuff yourself with burgers and fries all day, since you still need to eat healthily.
Aim for three main meals and two or three snacks a day or, if you struggle with large quantities of foods, six small meals spread throughout the day should help. Try not to leave more than four hours between eating.
A snack before bedtime may be particularly helpful - studies show that growth hormone levels are highest during early sleep.
Putting on weight in a healthy way means setting yourself a realistic target of no more than a kilogram a month. That's equivalent to eating around 300-350 extra calories each day.
