Fare International.

Ambience Homely, cosy and quirky, with a curved ceiling on one side that gives the feeling of being in an underground vault, and a small terrace. The decor is eccentric and arty, with table dressings, lights and mirrors from the group's design store, Homeless, located above the restaurant.

Cost About HK$350 for three courses without drinks.

Turn-ons The grilled salmon with Caesar's salad was a good start to the meal: the greens lightly coated in a refreshingly zesty dressing and the salmon lightly cooked and coated with herbs and sesame seeds. The pan-roasted Saikyo miso black cod (pictured) was sweet and succulent, the flesh falling apart at the slightest touch of the fork. The flambeed banana crumble for dessert was served in a ceramic dish shaped like an egg box and was big enough for three. The layer of crumble was sweet and crumbly, without being dry, and the baked fruit spiced with cinnamon.

Turn-offs The grilled rib-eye steak had too much fat and gristle, and the potato chips and onion rolls it came with were unremarkable.
