TakeOut Comedy Club Tonight, 10pm
There's nothing family-friendly about Kerri Louise, a stand-up comedian from Harlem who draws her punchlines from motherhood and marriage.
'When I was pregnant - I'm not going to lie - I wanted it to be a girl,' she tells an audience in New York City shortly after the birth of her third son. 'But I'm fine with a boy, I'm fine, I'm fine,' she says, as if reassuring herself. 'He's going to be gay. I need to go shopping with someone.'
Tonight you can expect more family smack talk when the razor-tongued comedian kicks off the Third Annual Hong Kong International Comedy Festival as its first female headliner. It's her first performance in Hong Kong, following in the footsteps of husband and fellow comedian Tom Cotter, who performed at last year's festival.
Louise (above) started out as a fitness trainer in Boston, but her love of comedy drew her to amateur stages in the city. In 2004, she was discovered on the second season of TV show Last Comic Standing.
Since then she has made frequent appearances on Comedy Central, Oprah and The View, and been on the club circuit in New York, where she is now based. Her ability to turn life experiences into comedy has also made her a favourite at US universities.
But perhaps her biggest professional achievement to date is sharing a reality show with her family. Two Funny, which airs on US cable channel Women's Entertainment, shows Cotter and Louise juggling their three babies and dual careers, while trying to make time for romance and humour in their marriage.
