Warning over faulty dehumidifiers

People are being urged to stop using three models of Whirlpool dehumidifiers because their motors may overheat. The Electrical and Mechanical Services Department said Whirlpool would offer free maintenance for the affected SS20, SS205 and SS206 models, bearing serial numbers CNNO40300000 to CNNO64199999. The dehumidifiers were sold from January 2004 to December 2006. The supplier said the overheating may cause a short circuit.
