What happens when a large group of men from Wales go to the Great Wall? They start singing, of course. The members of the Hong Kong Welsh Male Voice Choir were in Beijing last weekend for a charity concert - their first performance on the mainland - and on a visit to the historic landmark, the red-shirted blokes (right) decided to do an impromptu little concert, to much amusement and curious looks from other visitors and locals. The group is now preparing for another concert this Sunday called Something Old, Something New. It's their annual collaboration with students from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. A special guest is piano prodigy Rachel Cheung Wai-ching, 17. Also appearing are soprano Shaddai Solidum, tenor Eric Ferrer and the Academy Brass Ensemble with director Joe Kirtley. Tickets for the Sunday performance, starting at 7:30pm at the academy, are HK$250 and HK$180.
