Grub: One of many traditional snake shops, but this has an unusually decent environment - most tend to be a bit grim.
Vibe: Very different from most people's perception of a snake soup shop. There are only a few snakes used as decoration, so it looks like a regular, small Chinese restaurant. It gets crowded during peak hours, so you might have to sit with strangers.
Who to bring: Anyone who's not afraid of trying exotic foods and wants to try out signature Chinese dishes.
It's traditionally said that autumn is the time for the Chinese to eat snake soup - there's definitely a chill in the air now, so round up some adventurous allies.
What's hot: Snake. There's no point in going to a snake soup shop and not trying the signature dish, especially here, where it's delicious. As well as snake meat, the soup contains pork and dried mushroom, giving the broth a lovely, rich flavour. If you have a small appetite, a bowl of this delicious soup will probably be enough on its own to fill you up.
