Feted as one of Malaysia's brightest directorial talents in recent years, Ho Yuhang's career began with a bang: his first feature film, Min, won the Special Jury Award at Nantes' Festival of Three Continents in 2003, which he followed with two more wins at the Rotterdam International Film Festival for his second effort, Sanctuary. His latest film, At the End of Daybreak, won the Netpac award at this year's Locarno Film Festival, and closed this year's Hong Kong Asian Film Festival.

Ho's 2004 film Rain Dogs led to his collaboration with Hong Kong-based Malaysian producer Lorna Tee. They have since formed Paperheart, a company that contributed to the making of Tsai Ming-liang's I Don't Want to Sleep Alone and newcomer Charlotte Lim's Strangers.
