Get creative with Christmas warmth
In a tie-in with the release of the highly anticipated animation feature A Christmas Carol, a competition which gives young writers a chance to unleash their creativity has been launched.
The movie is based on Charles Dickens' classic novel of the same name. Jim Carrey provides the voice for Scrooge, a Victorian-era old, grumpy and money-worshipping miser who goes on a magical journey of self-redemption.
To take part in the contest organised by Intercontinental Film Distributors, read the book and write an essay, in either Chinese or English, on the topic: 'If you were Scrooge, think of three creative ways to give your family and friends the most warming Christmas'.
Essays should be about 300 words for the junior division (Secondary One to Three) and 500 words for the senior division (Secondary Four to Seven). The senior division winner will receive a cash prize of HK$2,000, while the junior division will receive HK$1,500.
