EXPLORATION Theatre will present the famous thriller Deathtrap written by Ira Levin. Deathtrap won a 1978 Tony Award nomination for Best Play and recently was awarded a special Edgar Award by Mystery Writers of America. It is a fantastic thriller in two acts with a juicy murder in Act One and highly unexpected developments in Act Two. The story takes place in the study of Sidney, a famous playwright of thrillers in the past but is struggling recently. One morning, Sidney receives the manuscripts Deathtrap from a young playwright Johnny, which he thinks is highly commercial and would be a great hit, but the only problem is Sidney wants himself to be the playwright of this story. He invites Johnny to his study planning to kill him. Johnny arrives without knowing Sidney's intention but only to discover it is Sidney's wife that is being murdered. The production will be staged at the Ngau Chi Wan Civic Centre Theatre from April 29 to May 1 at 8 pm, April 30 and May 1 at 3 pm and at the Sheung Wan Civic Centre Theatre from May 4 to 6 at 8 pm. Tickets at $75, $55 and $40 (students and senior citizens) are available at Urbtix outlets.
