Diocesan Boys' School (DBS) and Diocesan Girls' School (DGS) took the championships at the All-Hong Kong Schools Jing Ying Badminton Tournament. The schools won both the singles and doubles titles at Choi Hung Road Sports Centre.
The semi-finals and finals of the inter-school competition - organised by the Hong Kong Schools Sports Federation - were held on Sunday.
DBS student Lam Pok-fung paired up with Hong Kong national junior team member Angus Ng Ka-long to take the boys' doubles title easily. They defeated Chan Tsz-him and Cheung Tsun-hin from Wah Yan College (Hong Kong) 21-10, 21-15.
Later, Pok-fung continued his good form in the boys' singles. First, he disposed of Ho Wai-lun from St Joseph's Anglo Chinese School in the semi-finals. Then, in the final, he defeated Wong Pak-ho from Tsung Tsin Middle School, 21-11, 15-21, 21-19.
Pok-fung, 18, who will leave DBS next year, said he was very happy to win both titles. 'This is the first time I won both titles and most probably the last. I'm glad I did it before leaving DBS,' he said.
'Last year, Ka-long and I were beaten in the quarter-finals. We were disappointed so we trained harder this time.'
