Pummel and smash your way through hordes of bad guys as your favourite comic book hero in Marvel Super Hero Squad for the Nintendo Wii, Sony PlayStation 2 and PSP.

This is a 3D action-adventure game based on the new animated Marvel TV series of the same name. It features mini, cute versions of the comic-book publisher's heroes and villains.

The controls are simple - three attack buttons and a jump/fly button - making Marvel Super Hero Squad a basic 'button masher'.

Gamers can jump into the action by themselves with an AI buddy, or grab a friend and fight their way through groups of bad-guy cannon fodder. Single players can also double the fun by switching between their two favourite heroes by pressing the left D-pad button.

The graphics for the game are above par. There are nicely rendered, colourful 3D environments. But the sound effects and background music are fair at best.

At least the voice acting and scripting are well executed, reflecting the animated show's quirky humour.
