Singaporean pop star Stefanie Sun Yan Zi emerged from a two-year hiatus in May to launch her concert series, The Answer is ... Stefanie Sun, which stops in Hong Kong in February.
Prior to this tour, Sun (below) had been out of the public eye since releasing her last single and completing her contract with label Gold Typhoon (formerly EMI).
Her time off had fuelled rumours that the singer was struggling with her music career and focusing too much on a personal relationship.
The 31-year-old responded by announcing her concert series, which opened in Taipei, where her career first took off in 2000. Since then, the tour has stopped off in Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu and Singapore. The singer of hit single Cloudy Day will play at the Hong Kong Coliseum on February 5-6 before heading to Guangzhou, Macau and Malaysia.
Sun last played the Coliseum three years ago. For the upcoming show, the singer has put photographer Wing Shya in charge of stage visuals and to create a one-of-a-kind multifaceted 3D stage using holograms.
Award-winning movie costume designer and art director William Chang Suk-ping will be the singer's image consultant and is set to create a female warrior persona for her. Sun promised that her forthcoming concert would be a visual feast for her fans.
