Bank warns over fraudulent claim
Bank of China (Hong Kong) and a subsidiary, Po Sang Futures, have issued a warning over a fraudulent claim on the website (www.invest-champion.com) of Koon Yue Investment Consultant,   saying  it is a subsidiary of the bank. The bank has reported the case to the Hong Kong Monetary Authority and police. Customers with inquiries can call 2332 3328.  
Assault on maid investigated 
Police have launched an investigation after a foreign domestic helper said she had been assaulted by her employer yesterday. The woman, suffering minor facial injuries, stopped policemen in Moreton  Terrace, Causeway Bay, at about 10.45am. She was taken to Ruttonjee Hospital. 
Minibus knocks down man, 83
An 83-year-old man was knocked down by a minibus while crossing Ming On Street,  Hung Hom,  at about 9.30am. He was treated for leg injuries at Queen Elizabeth Hospital. The driver, 40, passed a breathalyser test. 
Villagers evacuated after fire
Twenty villagers were evacuated from Ping Kong Tsuen, Sheung Shui, when a hut burst into flames at about 2.40pm. No one was inside  at the time, and firemen put out the blaze at about 3.30pm. No one was injured, and police suspected the cause was a short circuit.
