Jennifer Tse succumbs to family affair with acting
After long battling expectations that she would continue her family's acting legacy, Jennifer Tse Ting-ting announced she has decided to become an actress after all.
Tse's parents are actors Patrick Tse Yin and Deborah Li, while her older brother is singer-actor Nicholas Tse Ting-fung, husband of actress Cecilia Cheung Pak-chi. But Jennifer, 27, had always resisted the limelight.
That changed recently when Tse (right), accompanied by her parents, attended a contract-signing ceremony and officially announced her plans to become an actress.
She signed a three-year deal with producer-director Wong Jing's Mega-Vision Pictures Limited.
'When I started modelling about a year ago, people kept saying that I had already started my showbiz career,' Tse said. 'So, I guess becoming an actress is the natural next step for me.'
Tse said she had been receiving advice from sister-in-law Cheung. 'She shared her experiences with me and advised me on what I should and shouldn't do,' Tse said. 'Sexy film roles would be acceptable, but appearing nude would not be.'
