Who started it? Born in Seoul, South Korea, 50-year-old Wooyoungmi has been designing men's clothes for more than 20 years. After studying fashion at Seoul University, she launched her first menswear line, Solid Homme, in 1988. She relocated to Paris and launched her eponymous line in 2002. She continues to show twice yearly collections in Paris, where she also has a boutique. High-end stores such as Selfridges and Via Bus Stop stock her line.

Why we love it: Wooyoungmi strives to create clothes that are modern and unfussy. Inspired by architecture, her looks are contemporary with high-quality delicate fabrics and completed details. She keeps her cuts simple, clean and precise.

The autumn/winter collection is inspired by modern nomads. The predominantly dark palette includes black, grey, navy, brown, dark green and deep purple on fabrics such as wool felt, heavy knits, cashmere wool and brushed cotton to add texture.

What we'd pick: the double-breasted coat with a hoodie (left; HK$6,850) or the more casual zip-up jacket (right; HK$6,590). You can pair either with the tapered sporty trousers (left; HK$3,250).

Where can you get it? Wooyoungmi is available exclusively at Harvey Nichols, The Landmark, Central, tel: 3695 3388.
