Chocolate is a crucial holiday treat, but this Chocolate from LG is far more than a tasty morsel. Also known as the BL40, the new LG Chocolate phone features the largest phone screen seen so far: a massive 4-inch display that stretches out across the entire front of the phone. To maximise the use of the extra-wide screen, LG has introduced something called the Dual Screen UI (user interface), which means you can split the screen in two to show two different applications, such as browsing the Web and reading e-mails at the same time. LG has also included one-touch copy and paste, so you can copy information from one screen, like a website address, and paste it into another application on the other screen. There is also cool gesture-based access to applications. So draw a symbol - like M for messaging - and the phone unlocks and opens that program. The Chocolate runs LG's own icon-based operating system, and is supported by 3.5G data connectivity and quad-band GSM. It also sports a 5-megapixel digital camera, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, A-GPS, and an FM radio. The big display does mean the Chocolate is extra long at 128mm, but the other dimensions are more manageable: it's pretty narrow, at 51mm, and super-thin at 10.5mm. By comparison, the iPhone is 115.5 x 62.1 x 12.3mm. The LG Chocolate is HK$3,880. Pros: sleek design, large display, dual screen function, super-thin, fits nicely in Christmas stockings Cons: longer than all other phones on the market
