He Jingde kicked off a successful day as the hosts captured three gold medals and one silver at Western Park Sports Centre.

He, who was leading in the men's all-round after finishing first in the nanquan the previous night, did not let the home fans down with another impressive performance in the nangun, scoring 9.8 points for a total of 19.6. Taiwanese Hsu Kai-kuei was second with 19.44, and the bronze went to Koki Nakata of Japan.

'I am happy, not only because I finished first but also because I have performed what I have been training over the past couple of months,' He said.

Bolstered by He's result in the morning, Hong Kong bagged two more golds in the evening. Zheng Tianhui beat Li Na of China in the women's all-round in jianshu and qiangshu with a total score of 19.52. Lee Wen-jung of Taiwan won bronze.

'I will be taking part in tomorrow's duilian and the all-round gold medal came as a timely boost. I am very confident our team can win another gold for Hong Kong,' Zheng said.
