A star-studded line-up for leading jockey Brett Prebble on his return from suspension today has guaranteed Jockey Challenge favouritism at Sha Tin and should ensure success as well. Riding brilliantly prior to his careless-riding ban, a refreshed Prebble was posted the 1.6 favourite when odds went up for the international meeting's Challenge last night and they could find only Darren Beadman (3.5) as a serious rival, with 13-1 or better for the rest. Prebble will ride live chances Thumbs Up and Sacred Kingdom in the Vase and the Sprint, and has a knockout hope with Able One in the Mile, but it is in the supporting events where he should secure the winning Challenge points. Prebble's day begins in earnest with Supreme Win (race two) following the youngster's enormous victory in Class Four, and boom sprinter Taverner (race three) looks a walkover, so the Australian can have the Challenge put to bed very early if he strikes at all in the features that follow. Danzulu (race six) is a better chance than his overnight 20-1 price suggests, and Prebble comes home on the back of another of David Hall's highly promising four-year-olds, Algarve, who takes a further step towards the Derby in the last race. Beadman, for his part, has strong chances with Happy Zero (Mile) and Collection (Cup) and several other point-scoring opportunities, but the Jockey Challenge may hinge on the result of the second event, where he looks the only danger to Prebble with Elegance Desire.
