THE Shanghai office of the US-based First National Bank of Boston open yesterday - the 64th office of foreign financial institutions to open in the city.

Ira Stepanian, president of First National of Boston, who attended the opening, said his bank is confident of China's financial market, and hoped the bank would soon set up at least five other offices, which would be upgraded into branches.
