Bank's customers get the complete package
The wealth management team at the Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation (HSBC) helps customers enhance the value of their assets by providing a comprehensive range of personal banking and financial planning services.
'We approach customers and tailor packages of financial services, including insurance and investment, to match their specific requirements,' says Milly Chow Suk-mun, senior wealth management manager. 'Our goal is to provide comprehensive ongoing services for our customers.'
Members of the wealth management team will initially go through the financial plans of individual customers with them and offer professional advice and suggestions based on their needs.
HSBC customers are known for their diversity. 'We serve customers who are locals and from outside Hong Kong with varying levels of knowledge in finance and investment planning. For customers who have little knowledge [of] financial planning, we help them build a solid understanding by explaining the basics,' Chow says.
Because the wealth management team members have forged a close relationship with individual clients, some customers will seek professional assistance from them in other areas such as mortgage arrangements, she says. 'We sometimes act as our customers' first contact point for comprehensive banking services.'
Chow joined HSBC more than 10 years ago and has been in the wealth management division since 2003. She was promoted to senior manager this summer.
