Soundbite: 'I have won the Prince Hong Kong Junior Squash Closed Championships several times. I'm proud of this amazing record but I always remind myself how hard I should be working to retain my title,' Ivan says. 'Every match is equally important to me. I never take my opponent for granted, even if they are beginners. 'Last year, I hurt my leg during a football match at school and I lost during the selection matches for the World Junior Squash Championships. I now understand the importance of taking protective measures as an athlete to prevent injuries. 'My school team has won the overall title at the inter-school competition for 16 consecutive years. As a key player, I am keen to help the team defend the title. I will also focus on the individual event and hope to win my first gold medal in this competition.' From his coach: 'Ivan's performance is quite steady and his results are excellent,' says Dick Leung kan-fai, squash coach at the Hong Kong Sports Institute. 'But he still needs to learn how to limit the negative effects brought by his emotions.' Ambitions: 'I am focusing on preparing for this year's inter-school competition and the world junior championships,' Ivan says. 'I also want to keep my top ranking.'
