The Jockey Club will be hoping the old saying that 'records are meant to be broken' rings true after posting a tantalising Jockey Challenge market for tonight's Happy Valley meeting on the back of record turnover ($11 million) at Sha Tin on Sunday.

Champion Douglas Whyte at $4.70 looks a top bet, while Derek Leung Ka-chun ($8), Olivier Doleuze ($7.50) and Matthew Chadwick ($9) are also good hopes if results fall their way.

In a wide-open market that has premiership leader Brett Prebble an early $2.70 favourite, there will be plenty of value for punters. Whyte is the only rider with a full book of rides and, after booting home a treble at Sha Tin to take the honours, must be rated a top hope once again.

Prebble has strong chances as favourite but, with no rides in the first two races, may struggle to catch Whyte if the South African can score early.

Whyte will look to demoralise his opponents early with good longshot hopes Zero Gravity in the first race, followed by Sunshine Boy in the second.

Darpana rates highly after being thereabouts of late, while Electronic Master has claims in the Kingston Handicap on the back of winning form two starts ago.
