A traffic police constable was awarded HK$579,000 in damages yesterday from a convicted drink-driver who injured him when he crashed into his motorcycle in July 2005. Chong Siu-lung was granted the compensation by Master Jack Wong Kin-tong in the Court of First Instance. Chong sued the driver, Samuel Au Yong-shong, and Weford Ltd in July 2008.
