Why you can trust SCMP

I REFER to the letter headlined, ''Embarrassing situation'' (South China Morning Post, March 4), in which your reader Mr John McCarthy complained that monthly statements from two supermarkets posted on February 9 and 14 respectively, were not received by him until February 28.

We undertook an investigation within the Post Office and made inquiries at the two supermarkets.

However, in the absence of information other than that in the letter, we are unable to find out anything about the alleged delay.

We would therefore be grateful if Mr McCarthy would contact our Controller of Posts (Branch Offices) on 92212302.
