South African Tony Millard was another trainer to climb out of a rut with True Intelligence one of the day's most impressive winners on the all-weather surface for Jeff Lloyd. It was shades of the day True Intelligence won by a big margin on the dirt in Class Four last season as he camped outside the early leader, China Hero, then strolled clear in the Cameron Handicap (1,200m) to win as he liked on the line. The Millard yard had begun the new term with a flourish in September and October, scoring seven wins in the first six weeks, but the wins dried up after Star Of Fame's Happy Valley victory on November 1. That losing streak had been interrupted only by Mr Celerity's victory on international day before yesterday's success, but punters had anticipated the return to form and sent True Intelligence out a well-backed $42 favourite before he took Millard to nine wins for the season.
