Alleged gang boss in court

THE accused boss of the notorious Fuk Ching gang and one of his lieutenants were arraigned in a Manhattan court last night, following extradition from Hong Kong. Kwok Ling-kay, 28, alias ''Ah Kay'', and Li Xing Hua, 22, denied an array of charges, including murder, kidnapping, and extortion.

They were ordered detained without bail. Kwok is suspected to have been behind a number of the alien smuggling boats which arrived in the US last year, including the ill-fated Golden Venture.
