American rock band cancels Asian concerts
American rock outfit The Killers have cancelled the Asian leg of their tour, including stops in Hong Kong, Beijing, Singapore, Manila, Tokyo and Seoul, due to 'unforeseen circumstances'.
The news broke yesterday, only a week after the Las Vegas-based band's guitarist, Dave Keuning, said that the group would take a break after playing in Australia next month.
Last week, Keuning said that after appearing at Australia's Good Vibrations Festival in February, the band, which has won several NME Awards and a BRIT Award, would not be recording or touring for a while because they felt burned out.
A statement from Live Nation, organisers of the Hong Kong, Beijing and Singapore concerts, said that the band had been forced to cancel its upcoming appearances and deeply apologised to their fans. The band hoped to reschedule shows in those cities soon.
However, the band, singers of hit single Somebody Told Me, said on their website that the cancellation of the Asian tour would not affect appearances in Australia scheduled for next month.
Live Nation said that it had been notified by the band's management only yesterday morning.
