Leo Ku kui-kei is branching out from his Canto-pop career into fashion. The 37-year-old this week opened a fashion concept store under his own label, A Big Company, in Tsim Sha Tsui.

Some of Ku's celebrity friends - including Vivian Chow Wai-man, Sherman Chung Shu-man and Ken Hung Cheuk-lap - as well as TVB's general manager, Stephen Chan Chi-wan, turned out to support him.

Ku (left) says he has always wanted to delve into fashion. 'When I was younger, I had the chance to enrol in design school, but I missed the opportunity. And later, I entered showbiz. So it's always been a dream to own a fashion label and store,' he said.

But first, Ku plans to test the waters. His store will open for three months to gauge reaction, he said. The outlet will open next month in Causeway Bay, showcasing outfits from his own brand and a number of hip Japanese labels. Ku's assistant, who is also rumoured to be his girlfriend, Lorraine Chan, will manage the new store.
