This week we test: cleansing oil

To ensure you completely remove your makeup, use a cleansing oil, then follow up with cleansing foam or milk to complete the cleaning procedure.

DHC Mild Touch Cleansing Oil (HK$119/150ml) 7/10

This wash-off oil needs only 30 seconds of massaging into skin to clear makeup. It's not too sticky, and leaves skin feeling soft. Convenient packaging.

Missha M Perfect B.B Deep Cleansing Oil (HK$198/200ml) 6/10

Missha's cleansing oil is particularly efficient and will get rid of the last trace of Hong Kong pollution. But it isn't the most enjoyable to use. It has a strong tea tree scent and can leave skin feeling oily, so rinse well, then rinse again.

H2O+ Face Oasis Cleansing Water (HK$260/236ml) 6/10

The pairing of pump bottle and liquid means a lot gets spilled. Despite the bottle's claims, this doesn't foam very well, and you may need to rinse and repeat to get all your makeup off. But at least it's not greasy.

Sofina Beaute Makeup Cleansing Oil (HK$240/200ml) 9/10

Encased in a pretty bottle with floral print, this product contains ginger, citrus and eucalyptus, which increase firmness and blood circulation. The gorgeous scent makes the cleansing process incredibly relaxing.

Bobbi Brown Cleansing Oil (HK$320/200ml) 8/10

A one-shot makeup remover/ cleanser that doesn't leave any residue or oily feeling. Olive and jojoba oils leave your skin feeling soft and supple, while ginger root soothes. The pump bottle means no wrestling with tubes or digging into tubs of goop. A bit on the pricey side, though.
