Blue Sky sweated up while walking the parade ring in the heat, leaving connections worried that it might be the horse's undoing in the race, but it almost proved his undoing after he won the Cowdray Park Handicap when he flipped and threw Brett Prebble, before struggling to regain his feet. By the time Blue Sky had come back a gutsy winner for trainer Caspar Fownes, he was drenched in sweat. He flipped backwards with great athleticism, throwing Prebble out of his irons, but the horse wasn't so graceful in getting back up as he struggled to get any grip on the sweat-slicked tiles. 'He's taken his time to come good, but the connections are going to have some fun with him now,' Prebble said. 'The last two runs he has relaxed better, and even though he was three wide, the pace wasn't strong, so you can cover ground in those circumstances at Sha Tin... I never felt like he was going to get beaten.'
