Who started it? Trussardi was founded by Italian Dante Trussardi in 1911 and specialised in quality leather gloves. Over the years, it has expanded into accessories and men's and women's ready-to-wear collections. In 2008, the brand was revamped by a fourth-generation Trussardi, Beatrice, with help from designer Milan Vukmirovic, one of the founders of Paris boutique Colette, who had formerly been a creative force at Jil Sander and Gucci. Under Vukmirovic's guidance, Trussardi 1911, a more contemporary sister label, has been established. The line, which features men's and women's accessories, is available at high-end multibrand stores such as Barneys New York and Restir in Tokyo.
Why we love it: it is chic and cool but does not forget the brand's original philosophy of sophistication, quality and innovation. The latest men's collection features the company's greyhound logo, with items made from vintage-look leather. Women's accessories combine black with embellishments such as gold fringing, hooks and eyes and tie-dye details for a rock vibe. The look is contemporary with a luxe street edge.
What we'd pick: from the menswear line, the leather army print duffle bag (above left; HK$14,000) with a brown leather handle and long strap. Women will make a statement with the black suede stiletto peep-toe shoes (left; HK$8,800) featuring laces and gold eyelets for a rock'n'roll vibe.
