At MSIG, new joiners go through two rounds of orientation. On their first day, they receive an introduction to company policies and to people who will help them settle quickly into their new environment. Within six months, all new hires will attend a detailed induction programme to learn about the company's vision, mission and corporate values. This programme is hosted by the human resources department with other managers speaking on topics such as corporate social responsibility, corporate governance and quality systems. Anecdotes about the company's past and a relaxed atmosphere ensure that new staff absorb the company's culture and values.

We believe that getting staff to buy into the culture of the company is important in orientating new hires. We hire staff that we think will fit in with our culture. For our frontline sales staff, they go through a three-day induction with the store manager to learn about the policies, regulations and sales culture of the company. Within the next two weeks there is an orientation programme hosted by the human resources department to inform newcomers of the mission and vision of company. There is lunch gathering for staff to interact with top management and let them know that the company takes the concerns of staff seriously.
