Panerai Composite

Officine Panerai introduced a new material to the watch industry this year. Panerai Composite, obtained through an electrochemical process that consists of the ceramisation of aluminium, is a material that is harder and lighter than the ceramics used to manufacture cases in watchmaking.

With a hardness that surpasses that of aluminium, steel and titanium, the material is particularly resistant to shock and high temperatures and, until now, has only been used in the aeronautic industry and the production of automotive and motorcycle components.

Panerai Composite is used to make the case and bezel of the Radiomir Composite Marina Militare 8 Giorni, one of the brand's 2010 novelties.
