Douglas Whyte has had a quiet couple of meetings since returning from a careless-riding suspension, but he is set for a change of fortune at Sha Tin today and appears a good bet at $2.70 in the Jockey Challenge. Challenge favourite Matthew Chadwick ($2.10) has a solid card, highlighted by a standout chance in the first on Cheetah Boy, but Whyte boasts an equally strong book and will prove hard to hold out in what shapes as another open contest. White has eight rides and can count at least four as strong winning hopes. Tremendous Add appears the first of his big chances and he will be hard to beat with a gun run from barrier three. Packing Friend has a solid chance in the Lotus Bridge Handicap (1,800m) and should relish the step up in distance, while You Gotta Pay steps up to 1,400m for the first time and trainer John Size has placed him well. If Whyte can give him the right run from gate 11, he will be hitting the line hard. Presto has claims in the Hong Kong Macau Trophy if the race is run to suit, but Always Something looks a live hope in the last and gets his chance to even the score with Danzulu.
