I support the charity Yan Oi Tong's involvement in the Eco Park in Tuen Mun.  
I think by doing this the charity can help highlight the importance of recycling in Hong Kong. 
Citizens can support the charity's efforts since the recycled material will come from 70 facilities that are run by Yan Oi Tong, such as community centres, schools and health clinics. 
I think that with this facility up and running, more residents will become aware of the importance of recycling in the city.  
If people take their plastic waste to  the charity's designated locations, they will be adopting an eco-friendly practice. Also, it will enable families to appreciate the importance of recycling and how it can help the environment.  
Recycling is beginning to take off in Hong Kong, but it is developing at a slow pace compared to countries like Japan and Singapore.  
I believe something like the Eco Park can help to get more people involved in recycling and aware of its importance. It can play a leading role, and hopefully other recycling centres will follow.  
Potential recycling operators will be encouraged by the fact that Yan Oi Tong will get HK$10 million of government funds over three years to run the recycling centre. 
This may not seem like much, but it sends a message to the public that the government is determined to develop the recycling industry in Hong Kong and is willing to offer financial help to firms willing to get involved in recycling.  
Some critics argue that the recycling industry is not sustainable in Hong Kong, but I disagree. 
I think the daily cost of operating a recycling centre will be far less than some people have estimated.  
This charity-run Eco Park should be seen as inspiring, and I hope it will lead to more investors getting involved in the recycling industry in Hong Kong.
