Who started it? Jewellery designer Fernanda Sibilia was born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina. As a child she was inspired by design and architecture and went on to study jewellery making at the Escuela Municipal de Joyeria, in the nation's capital. In 1996, she launched an eponymous jewellery line that blends traditional craftsman- ship with contemporary art. Sibilia is now sold at 200 stores worldwide.
Why we love it: Sibilia's necklaces, earrings and bracelets are inspired by nature and Latin America. Her designs are not trend driven, making them wearable season after season. She likes to mix shapes and often combines many in one design. Her use of lightweight metals means the styles are comfortable and, best of all, affordable. This season she has included pieces featuring metallic leaves and chains. Her signature designs include multitier necklaces and hoop earrings.
What we'd pick: for a statement piece, we like the leaf necklace (left; HK$2,800) and the hoop necklace (HK$2,600). The asymmetric teardrop hoop earrings (below; small, HK$800; large, HK$950) are modern and chic.
Where can you get it? Sibilia is available at Lane Crawford, IFC Mall, Central, tel: 2118 3388.
