A trio of investment bankers lost their locks last week, but all in a good cause. Friends (left to right, in before and after pictures) Nelson Tang, Donald Tang and Christopher Burgess all stepped up to to cut their hair for charity and raised a total of HK$1 million for the Hong Kong Cancer Fund. All three attended a gala ball in late February in support of the cancer organisation headed by Sally Lo (pictured with the freshly cut trio) and in a dare to take their support further, they decided on buzz cuts. 'This is our one step further,' Burgess, who works for Swiss bank Julius Baer, said. 'We are jeopardising family photos and looking forward to a summer of excessive sun screen.' Together the guys received their cut at Kim Robinson's salon. 'Hopefully our families will appreciate that this drastic action is for a good cause,' Burgess added. 'I personally don't think it is my best look, but then again, one of the ball's guests [a cancer survivor] commented that he didn't have the choice about going bald when he underwent chemotherapy. If people ask me why I did this, I can say that I was inspired by the path that many cancer survivors and their families have had to walk and we wanted to do our part in helping to build services that focus on establishing health for those on the journey.' Lo explained the money that the money they raised would go to operating the third CancerLink support centre, to be opened in Tin Shui Wai later this year.
