The Rwandan rugby team might not be playing in the Sevens but they will still be there - and you won't be able to miss them. The 13 members of the Silverbacks, relative novices to the game, were invited here to get some exposure to higher levels of competitive rugby. Obviously, competition and training is lacking back in their African home, which is now slowly recovering from its recent bloody strife. While they are not participating in the games, they will - in the 'when in Rome' spirit - be there dressed in wacky costumes. After a practice on Monday, the entire squad plus coach and manager were brought to Causeway Bay costume shop Matteo Party and offered their choice of attire for the fun-filled weekend. So what did the Rwandans unanimously choose? Santa Claus suits. 'We're so happy to be in Hong Kong we feel like it's Christmas, that's why we wanted to go as Father Christmas,' said team manager Eugene Murenjekha. In other words, fifteen African men looking like Santa Claus in the South Stand - yep, they'll blend right in.
