The story of a famous Cantonese opera performer will be used to help secondary school students learn about Hong Kong's entertainment history.
Researchers from the University of Hong Kong recently wrote a book based on the career of veteran performer Leung Sing-boh.
The book will be used in liberal studies lessons.
Leung's 40-year career spanned Cantonese opera, film and TV shows.
Dr Ng Fung-ping, assistant professor at the Faculty of Education and the project's leader, said: 'Leung's story also provides an insight into Hong Kong people's lives and the city's developments over the past few decades.'
The plan is part of a project by HKU's Centre for Advancement of Chinese Language Education and Research and two secondary schools to promote Cantonese opera among the younger generation.
