Leading karaoke chain Neway is facing new lawsuits lodged by record labels Sony Music and Universal Music over alleged infringement of copyright works in its 23 bars in the city.
The two actions filed in the Court of First Instance on April 1 came after a similar claim from Warner Music was launched in February.
Neway has more than 90 per cent of Hong Kong's karaoke clubs after its takeover of rival California Red Karaoke Box last month.
In the two writs, Sony Music and Universal seek an injunction to restrain Neway Karaoke Group companies from infringing their copyright works.
They also seek damages and an order requiring Neway to hand over or destroy all infringing copies.
The writs do not provide any details about the scope of the alleged infringement or the amount claimed.
