Name Charlie Tsui Chung-yan School Diocesan Girls' School Grade Form Three Sport Archery (recurve bow) Achievements Chung-yan, 15, is a member of the Hong Kong youth archery team. She is also a member of the Police Archery Club. She represented Hong Kong in the 2008 and 2009 World Junior Archery Championships in Turkey and the United States, respectively. Soundbite 'My mum and dad were top archers in Hong Kong. I started to learn archery when I was a kid. Our family gatherings are all archery-related activities and we enjoy practising archery together,' says Chung-yan. 'My success also inspired my younger brother and sister to start learning archery. 'Archery is still a relatively new sport to my schoolmates. To better promote it in school, I established an archery club this academic year. 'Because of the reconstruction of our school campus there is limited space and our club members have to train outside. But we will have a brand new training centre once our new campus is ready and I think we can attract more athletes then. From her coach 'Chung-yan is a hard-working archer and always tries to improve her performances,' says coach Lillian Shum. 'But as her opponents in local competitions are her close friends, she is sometimes not very keen to fight all the way for victory. I hope she and her teammates can show more intense competition and greater improvement in future.' Ambition 'My target is to represent Hong Kong at the Asian Games and Olympic Games,' says Chung-yan, referring to her long-term goal.
