HK win nine medals at Asian championships

Hong Kong collected four silver and five bronze medals at the Asian championships, which ended at the Zayed Velodrome in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, yesterday. All the silver medals were won in the track events, with three coming from the women's team - Lee Wai-sze in the time trial and Jamie Wong Wan-yiu in the points race and the omnium. The men came second in the madison. Kwok Ho-ting, Hong Kong's major hope for the 2012 London Olympic Games, won a bronze in the men's points race. China topped the table with nine gold medals, including two from Guo Shuang, a sprint bronze medallist at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. South Korea were second with seven gold medals.
