With only 15 riders competing at tonight's Happy Valley meeting, the door is open for an upset in the Jockey Challenge and in-form Zac Purton looks a value chance at $7.

Regular favourite and equal premiership leader Douglas Whyte is no certainty to claim the Challenge this time, and at $2 looks a poor-value bet, despite his solid book of eight rides.

Whyte usually has a full book of rides, but with the jockey numbers down because of suspensions, injuries and mid-season contracts ending, the remainder of them have also found themselves with more chances.

Purton, who won the Happy Valley Challenge two weeks ago, and Matthew Chadwick, $5 second favourite, appear the biggest beneficiaries.

Purton's best hope comes in race three with in-form Lightning Mount, while Master Rio is also capable of turning the tables on Topping Light with a small advantage at the weights, and it would be no surprise to see these two fighting out the finish of the Cornwall Handicap over 1,200m.

The John Size-trained Man In The Mirror must be rated a chance in race six (2,200m) and will be hard to hold out with just 120 pounds to shoulder.
