HATIM Ebrahim will step down as president of the Hong Kong Cricket Association at their general meeting on Tuesday after six years at the helm.
John Hung, a director of Wharf Holdings who co-sponsor the International Sixes, is so far the only nomination to take over the post.
Said Ebrahim: ''I take great pride in what has been achieved by the officers during my term of office. I always had great support from them but now I think it is time to pass on the baton.
''I have been happy to see the development of the association in this time into an organisation which is more active and forward-looking than it was then.'' Association chairman Peter Slack said: ''We will sorely miss Hatim's guidance and leadership. He has always been a wise figure in the background ready to give advice and help whenever called upon. I do hope he will remain involved with the association.'' Hung said: ''Cricket in Hong Kong is at a turning point. The association has ambitious development plans and hope to contribute all I can.'' In Ebrahim's twilight as president, Hong Kong formed their first all-Chinese team, known as the Dragons.
