Group to decide on land sale
CAREFUL consideration should be made when China and Britain hammer out this financial year's land disposal plan today, according to surveyor Leung Chun-ying yesterday.
Speaking on the eve of the Sino-British Land Commission meeting to decide the area of land sale for the coming year, Mr Leung said the two countries should also take into account the location of the new land and whether this would address the market demand.
Mr Leung, who is also Hong Kong co-convenor of the Preliminary Working Committee political sub-group, said the density of the properties should also be included.
''Land supply is a crucial factor in determining the prices of properties but one should not only consider the amount,'' he said.
