Prom season is here - and it's for guys as much as it is for gals. For one week only, Sunday Young Post is devoting the entire Me! Me! Me! page to helping guys look good.
While it's true boys usually have less to worry about than girls, paying a little attention to what you wear and how you look will make a difference to your night. For that one night, play the part of a well-mannered gentleman rather than a scruffy schoolboy straight off a basketball court.
But it's not just about how you dress. SYP speaks to two skin experts who agree skin care is a very important prom preparation for guys.
Priscilla Mui Pui-sze, education manager of Clinique, notes that a lot of teenage boys use two-in-one wash-and-scrub products because they're so convenient.
But such products can actually be too strong for the face, Mui says. 'Do not use body soap or lotion [on the face], because the face's oil glands and skin thickness are very different from those in other parts of the body,' she adds. 'Body soap can be harsh and body lotion too rich for the face, and will block pores and create pimples.'
Mui also notes that most young men do only basic cleaning, while pooh-poohing the other two important steps - toning and moisturising.
