A nurse assisting a trainee doctor who injected intravenous drugs into a leukaemia patient's spine did not check the route of administration on the prescription, an inquest heard yesterday. Dr Linda Leung Kam-suet injected Vincristine, a chemotherapy drug, into Lui Hau-lam's spine on June 15, 2007. Lui died on July 7 at Prince of Wales Hospital. Nurse Ng Thuan-chan, who was assisting, told the court that she did not pay attention to the route of injection.
