All ATM machines to get keypad covers

Keypad covers will be installed at all automatic teller machines by the end of this month, the government says. The measure is aimed at stepping up the protection of bank card holders after HSBC and Hang Seng Bank customers lost HK$300,000 in a recent scam. It is suspected that a pinhole camera and card reader were installed at an HSBC ATM at East Ocean Centre to steal the personal identification numbers of card holders who used the machine.
