Brother and Sister Concept Store and Caf?
The concept for Brother and Sister was the brainchild of Gilbert and Cindy Yeung, and mixes retail and dining elements in a spacious area of the 1881 development at the former Marine Police Headquarters in Kowloon.
Developed in partnership with Gordon Lam and Jackson Ng, the idea was to bring a selection of upmarket jewellery and watches, sold by the Emperor Group, under one roof, with a range of fashion and a bar-caf? for shoppers to hang out.
New York-based Mark Zeff, founder of international design consultancy Zeff Design, was commissioned to create a relaxed but stylish ambience in a visually striking 2,800 sqft space in the basement of the Emperor Jewellery store at 1881 Heritage.
Among the special items available at the store are a wide range of rare or limited edition sneakers from sought-after brands and a rare collection of designer sunglasses and jewellery items by Justin Davis, Deep Anger, Marielle Byworth and Rock Candy. There are also designer watches from brands such as Lip Watch, Nixon, Tiret, Toy Watch and U-Boat. Other items include Aesop skin, hair and body products, Cowshed bath and body products, Chouette fashion watches, Dosh unisex wallets and DL & Co candles.
The bar and restaurant is emerging as a fashionable venue for parties and private events, and serves shoppers in Canton Road who need a drink or a light lunch.
Executive head chef James Lam has developed a menu of high-quality, comfort food signature dishes, including grilled Kurobuta pork chop served with maitake mushroom sauce, saut?ed angel hair with scallop and sakura prawns, and scallop and grapefruit salad served with yuzu dressing. The set lunch, available daily from noon to 2.30pm, offers outstanding value at HK$88, plus a 10 per cent service charge.
